About Frond
A company's knowledge should answer for itself
The answer to most questions is already written down. It is buried in six tools, and the fastest path to it is still to interrupt the one person who happens to know. Frond is built to change that.
Built by people who spent too long digging
Elena led a support organization of two hundred people and watched the same answers get re-explained every day while the real ones sat buried in a wiki nobody trusted. Sam built retrieval and ranking systems and saw the same problem from the infrastructure side. They started Frond to make a company's own knowledge answer for itself.
The problem is not that companies fail to write things down. Most teams have a wiki, a handbook, a ticket history, and years of chat. The answer to most questions is already there.
The problem is that it is never in one place, it is never easy to query, and the fastest path to a trustworthy answer is still to ask the one person who has been around long enough to remember. That person becomes a human search engine. They spend their day answering the same questions on rotation, and the organization's knowledge lives in their head instead of in a system.
Modern language models can read across all of that unstructured material, hold it together, and compose a plain-language answer with the exact lines behind it. That reading work is what Frond does. The knowledge is already yours. Frond makes it reachable.
Before Frond
- 01"How many PTO days carry over?"
- 02Search Notion. Ask in Slack. Ping the people team.
- 03Get three answers from three places, two of them outdated.
- 04Wait for someone with context to confirm which one is right.
- 05Move on, 40 minutes later.
Frond reads steps 2 through 4. The answer arrives in seconds, with the exact source behind it.
12 people building the answer
Elena Powell and Sam Ortiz started Frond and build it full time from San Francisco. The rest of the team brings engineering, product, and customer depth from environments where the cost of a wrong or missing answer is high.
Elena Powell
Co-founder & CEO
Elena led a support organization of two hundred people and watched the same answers get re-explained every day while the real ones sat buried in a wiki nobody trusted. She started Frond to make a company's own knowledge answer for itself. She builds Frond full time.

Sam Ortiz
Co-founder & CTO
Sam built retrieval and ranking systems and model-routing infrastructure before Frond. He owns the answer engine: how messy sources are read, how models are routed, and how every answer stays tied to a verbatim source. He builds Frond full time.
San Francisco, CA
Priya Nair
Founding Engineer, Retrieval
Priya makes Frond read the right documents for a question and keep the index current as sources change, so answers reflect what is true now.
Seattle, WA
Tobias Lang
Founding Engineer, Model Routing
Tobias keeps the model-agnostic router fast and cheap, deciding which model reads which question, and keeping a single lab outage from ever reaching an answer.

Grace Whitfield
Head of Product
Grace shapes how an answer reads: plain, direct, and always showing its source. Her rule is that a new hire should trust an answer or check it in one click.
San Francisco, CA
Marcus Bellamy
Head of Customer
Marcus came from operations leadership and makes sure Frond earns trust with the teams who live in it every day: support, operations, and people.

How we build
Four principles that shape every product decision, from the prompt design to the deployment model.
The answer, not the search
Anyone should get a trustworthy answer in seconds. Everything we build is measured against the time it gives back.
Always show the source
Every answer cites the exact lines behind it. An answer you cannot check is one you should not trust.
Permission before convenience
People only ever see answers from sources they are allowed to see. We respect the access you already set, without exception.
Quiet with your knowledge
Your knowledge answers your team only. It never trains a shared model. Read-only by default.
