How the AI works
Reading your knowledge is the product, so the model is the engine
Company knowledge is unstructured and written differently in every tool. Answering a plain-language question from it, with the exact source, is language work that only modern models do well. Here is how Frond does it, and how it stays honest.
From a scattered mess to one cited answer
Three stages, each doing one job. No taxonomy to maintain and no rules engine pretending to understand your question.
Connect your sources
Frond reads from the tools your knowledge already lives in, over read-only, permission-aware connections. Nothing is moved or copied out of your systems to answer a question.
Read and index everything
Frond reads each document, ticket, and message, and builds an index of what each one says and how they relate. When a source changes, the index updates, so answers reflect what is true now.
Answer, with the source
For a question, Frond retrieves the most relevant passages, a strong model reads them together and composes a plain-language answer, and every claim is tied to a verbatim quote from your own sources.
Each step goes to the model that fits it
Frond keeps a registry of frontier and open models and routes each step of an answer to the one that clears the quality bar for the least cost. No single lab to depend on, and new models slot in behind the same interface.
Read the question the way a colleague would, and decide which sources are worth reading closely. Cheap and fast.
Read the relevant documents, tickets and messages together and compose one plain-language answer grounded in them. The heaviest step, sent to a strong model.
Check that every cited line appears verbatim in the source it points to, so the answer stays honest and checkable.
In this deployment the OpenAI models are wired live. Anthropic, Google and self-hosted open models plug in behind the same interface once a key is present. The router falls back down the list so a single lab outage never blocks an answer.
How Frond stays honest
A knowledge assistant is only useful if you can trust it. Frond is built so a wrong or stale answer is quick to spot, and a made-up one does not happen.
Answers only from your sources
Frond is told to use only the documents it retrieved, not outside knowledge. The answer is a reading of your material, not a guess dressed up as one.
Every citation is checked
Each quote Frond returns is verified to appear, character for character, in the document it points to. A quote that does not match is dropped, so a citation you can open is a citation you can trust.
It says when it cannot find it
If the answer is not in your connected sources, Frond says so plainly rather than inventing one. A confident wrong answer is worse than an honest gap.
Permission-aware, always
Retrieval respects the access you already set in each source. A person only ever gets answers from documents they are allowed to see.
Quiet with your knowledge
Your knowledge is used to answer your team's questions only. It is never used to train shared models. Connections are read-only by default, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can set retention and delete on request.
